BREAKING NEWS, 9:30 AM: Strong allegations have been made that the Chinese government is in fact the true power behind the new government in Thibaw, and is using Thibaw?s recent change in leadership as a means to support their ongoing operations of NARCOTRAFFICKING, FORCED LABOR, TEAK DEFORESTATION, AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING.
A credible source, who asked for anonymity for his own protection, spoke up about reports from the Thibaw countryside that China was in fact the driver behind human rights violations in the northern regions of the country. There have been reports of opium trafficking increasing 18%, political links to terrorist organizations (including the UUDP), and human trafficking of young women into the country of China.
These new allegations require serious consideration to be taken by foreign oil companies, who have had an interest in extracting hydrocarbons from the country. The Chinese state-run oil company, EnCathay Energy, has also shown continued interest in the region.
