In regards to recent developments in the Thibaw oil and gas development project, Humanity First, Shared Heritage, and another unnamed NGO would like to re-iterate their stance on human rights and environmental protection.
The consequences of mismanagement in these two areas will have significant impact on the lives and future of the Thibawan community. We also represent millions of empowered stakeholders in the world, who are closely monitoring the situation as it develops in Thibaw.
We would like the oil and gas companies, specifically EnCathay, Shiloh, and Wordworth, who are currently in negotiations with the Thibaw government to state what their commitment and contribution will be to the local community development and environment sustainability.
