Thibaw continues to be a source of international focus for global organizations, governments, businesses, and NGOs. Thibaw, a country with vast natural resources, has the potential to offer significant opportunities for businesses worldwide. However, global NGOs such as Open Book International are committed to monitoring the environment in Thibaw in terms of the country’s freedom in society, economics, foreign affairs, and quality of life.
According to Jonthan Fong of OBI, Thibaw is the “9th most corrupt country” in a situation that is “quite dire and dangerous” with an “inexorable risk of falling behind.” However, Mr. Fong sees a “glimmer of hope” that companies such as Wordsworth might be able to improve the situation in Thibaw through successful implementation of ethical standards in their future operations.
