Association with Beowulf Security damages Wordsworth's Squeaky Clean Image - and shares tumble

London Daily Bugle September 2010

"It's unfortunate in the extreme that the brother of Jonathan Carruthers, the managing director of British security consultants Beowulf Integrity Limited, should allegedly have been implicated in the recent failed coup in the African republic of Hortensia," says Defence Analyst L.Col. (Retd) Andrew Mainwarring-Wilson. "There will definitely be speculation that Beowulf itself may have been involved - and Beowulf is providing security advice to Wordsworth Energy, especially in Thibaw, were human rights and security are top issues. Groups critical of Wordsworth will almost certainly put the worst possible construction on this relationship - and it can be expected that the Government of Thibaw wil react with deep suspicion."

This indeed seems to be the case as a significant number of Wordsworth shares were sold yesterday - accordingly to market insiders this was by Ethical Investment Mutual Funds which have become very disillusioned with Wordsworth in recent months.

Wordsworth's shares closed at 265.
